Through my family and studies I learned how to form stained glass into works of art. D’s Designs, LLC became a full-time business in April of 2004 after I polished my abilities by completing master artisan classes in 2003. With humble beginning in the garage of my home, D’s Designs has developed into a full studio that offers commissioned design set to the specifications of its clients abroad.
HOW I BEGAN MAKING STAINED GLASS
I was a professional ballerina for a short time, then a dance studio owner/instructor for 23 years. After a dance related injury, I decided to retire from dance and sold my studio. I wanted to remake my front door with stained glass inserts, so I began working on it in my garage. People soon began asking questions, then began placing orders and D’s Designs, LLC was in full swing. The fusing and slumping aspect of the “art glass” area was all learned through the past few years with various workshops and many mistakes.I am also a juried member and second season member of the Louisiana Crafts Guild. This is very prestigious and allows me to show my stained glass pieces in many galleries throughout Louisiana.
